Laureate Awards
Jeffrey P Schaefer, BSc, MSc(Epid), MD, FRCP(C), FACP
Jeffrey Schaefer is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and General Internist at the University of Calgary / Calgary Zone of Alberta Health Services. Currently, he is President of the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine and a member of the Internal Medicine Specialty Committee of the Royal College. He has served as Treasurer for the Alberta Chapter of the ACP for the past 7 years and continues as a voting member of the of the Internal Medicine Specialty Committee of the Royal College.
His many past roles include Head of General Internal Medicine, Interim Clinical Department of Medicine Chair, Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine, Senior Medical Director of the Provincial Medicine Strategic Clinical Network of Alberta Health Service, Internal Medicine Residency Program Director, Master Teacher with the Undergraduate Medical Program, and Medical Director of the Clinic for Mind-Body Medicine.He received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. At the University of Calgary, he completed internal medicine residency and a Master of Community Health Sciences. His interests include Evidence-Based Medicine, Medical Education, Clinical Informatics, and Integrative Medicine.

Lindsay Bridgland, MD
Dr. Lindsay Bridgland is a General Internist at the University of Alberta Hospital.
She has a keen interest in international health and medicine. She has had several opportunities to contribute to medical education overseas and to ensure these valuable experiences are available to residents and other trainees.
Lindsay Bridgland holds a Master of Science degree in molecular biology and genetics and is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s medical school. She completed her internal medicine residency and fellowship at the University of Alberta and joined the Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) in 2011.
Dr. Bridgland has received numerous awards for teaching excellence.
