This interactive training series consists of 7 core modules and 2 sets of case studies.
ACP Pain Management Cases: Low Back Pain provides interactive training on assessment and treatment to improve pain, function, and mood for patients with low back pain. By the conclusion of these cases, the learner will be able to:
- Perform biopsychosocial assessment of a patient with low back pain
- Establish a prioritized differential diagnosis for a patient with low back pain
- Formulate a treatment plan for a patient with low back pain
- Select communication frameworks to enhance patient partnership when communicating about pain and pain management
- Safely taper a patient off opioid pain medications

It provides interactive and engaging training in pain assessment, nonpharmacologic treatment, nonopioid pharmacotherapy, rational use of opioids, and management of patients with both pain and opioid use disorder. With an emphasis on evidence-based communication skills, this series is designed to support patient partnership and successful navigation of chronic pain management challenges.
